New Head Office

The Fremantle Trust, which operates in Buckinghamshire, Barnet, Bedfordshire, Harrow and Maidenhead (and is the largest single care provider in both Buckinghamshire and Barnet), is moving into a new headquarters building. Aylesbury based Fremantle has been operating since 1992, when it was set up by Buckinghamshire County Council in order to externalise its care provision. Fremantle has contracts with the above mentioned local authorities to provide social care for older people and / or people with a learning disability; it also sells private rooms in its older people’s homes.

Throughout its existence to-date Fremantle has occupied rented office premises, latterly at Sunley House on the Oxford Road. This new headquarters, on the Rabans Lane Industrial Estate, is being purchased by the organisation. “As our tenancy was approaching the lease break point we researched the market and discovered that if we bought a building it would actually cost us less, over a number of years, than paying rent on our existing location. The Trustees thought this made sound business sense and so we decided to purchase rather than rent. It also means we have an asset which we can use to raise funds against, if we want to, in order to innovate, to evolve our services for the people who use them,” said Carole Sawyers, Chief Executive.

The building is larger than the space the company currently occupies, the extra space mainly being utilised for training rooms, as the organisation operates its own Training and NVQ centre. It also means that, for the first time in the company’s history, it will have its name on the outside of a building, giving it a visible presence in Aylesbury. “It may not be located in the town centre but Rabans Close is on a route that is well used by many Aylesbury citizens, so we will be highly visible,” commented Ms Sawyers.

We are moving! We will be moving into our new office at Woodley House on 17 August and there is likely to be some disrupted working between Thursday 12 August and Tuesday 18 August. E-mail addresses are unchanged. Our main switchboard number will be 01296 393000 from 17 August. The postal address is The Fremantle Trust, Woodley House, 64-65 Rabans Close, Aylesbury HP19 8RS.
