Manager Shares Wedding Festivities with Residents

Manager of Farnham Common House, Farnham Common, Bucks, Karen Kelly, recently got married and so that residents could share in her celebrations she held a special ‘Wedding Day’ party at the home.

Karen and husband Steve were married in New York, USA, on 26 March. Obviously this was too far for any residents to travel but she wanted them all to share her happy day in some way. So, this week she put on her dress again, bought a new bouquet, a new wedding cake, party food and champagne for all the residents at the home to enjoy. Several members of staff also dressed up in their wedding dresses and other brought theirs in to hang on display round the room. Residents dressed up and wore hats or fascinators and a great time was had by all.

“I was determined that residents would somehow get to celebrate with me,” said the new Mrs Singleton “Everyone was so happy for me and we had a splendid party.”
